In an interview with UN News’s Ezzat El-Ferri, the United Nations Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, noted that while the Palestinians in Gaza have been very resilient, they need significant support to rebuild their lives. She noted her awareness that the situation in Gaza is intrinsically tied to progress on the political front and the two-state solution.
On Wednesday (April 24), the UN World Food Programme (WFP) warned that some people in Gaza have run out of food and are now dying of hunger.
The alert came after nearly seven months of Israeli bombardment, sparked by Hamas-led terror attacks on southern Israel last October.
