As far back as 1958, the year the first female officer joined the Ghana Armed Forces a year after the country’s independence, the number of uniformed women has grown exponentially. Lately, Ghana has sought to promote women in leadership and military operations, creating opportunities for more women to thrive in all branches of the Army and as UN peacekeepers.
