Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG) Virginia Gamba in an interview at UNHQ gave an overview of the untenable situation for Haitian youth. She spoke about the need to go to Haiti to meet with gang leaders and members, as soon as access and security allow.

Gamba stressed the importance of providing police with the tools to deal with youth gang members to encourage change.
