On August, 20, 2013, California emergency management leaders from Cal OES, California National Guard, CalFIRE and the Public Safety Communication Office (PSCO) went before the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management. Cal OES Director Mark Ghilarducci gave the opening comments to the panel. Ghilarducci discusses how Cal OES is progressing with the transition from the Cal EMA name, adding hundreds of new employees with PSCO and provides an update on how state's emergency management system is operating with a lean federal budget.
