The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, is holding public hearings from 19 to 26 February 2024 on the request for an advisory opinion regarding the Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. These hearings are taking place at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the seat of the Court, under the presidency of Judge Nawaf Salam, President of the Court. In this session, we heard from Türkiye, Zambia, League of Arab States, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and African Union.
