The Conservation of Defense

From sea to shining sea, the United States is experiencing an unprecedented loss in biodiversity, with some 500 species already lost or extinct. Any effort to promote conservation of this natural wealth will have to involve an unusual partner, however: the Pentagon. The Department of Defense has bases in every state, with more than 27 million acres under management, teeming with diverse -- and endangered -- creatures and plants, plus important ecosystems and water resources.

Join us for a live webinar on June 18th from 2:00-3:30 to hear from the Environmental Policy Innovation Center about their new report, “The Conservation of Defense: Opportunities to Promote Conservation through Military Readiness,” and how "natural security" fits into the military mission.

Speakers:

Timothy Male, @EPIConservation
Executive Director, Environmental Policy Innovation Center

Rebecca Rubin

Marstel-Day, LLC

Kristin Thomasgard
