The impact of individual action and behaviour change is often questioned when it comes to sustainability. Some argue that only ‘powerful people’ in the form of governments and business action really matters, not individuals. Others say ‘people power’ is the key to global change. During the Covid19 pandemic, individuals have taken action quickly to stay safe and keep others safe. And the impact on politics, business and even the natural world is obvious.

And, there are hints people are looking to build sustainable lifestyles as well as safer/ healthier ones. According to Google Trends, in the 90 days up to Earth Day (April 22nd) search interest in “How to live a sustainable lifestyle” increased by more than 4,550%.

In this digital event, we will explore how brands and businesses can support the widespread adoption of sustainable lifestyles, especially during this time. Our Co-Founder, Solitaire Townsend, will be joined by Kate Brandt, Chief Sustainability Officer of Google, and Lena Pripp-Kovac, Chief Sustainability Officer, Inter IKEA Group to discuss their organizations’ approaches to sustainable living in a pandemic world.
