On August 2, 2021, the General Assembly passed Resolution 75/314, formally establishing the Permanent Forum for People of African Descent. This Forum operates as a consultative mechanism for people of African descent and relevant stakeholders, aiming to improve their safety, quality of life, and livelihoods. It also serves as an advisory body to the Human Rights Council, aligning with the program of activities for the International Decade for People of African Descent and coordinating with existing mechanisms.
