The President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Dennis Francis, spoke about the upcoming Sustainability Week (15-19 April 2024).

The Week will be the first High-level event of its kind, focusing on five key elements: Sustainable Energy, Transportation, Tourism, Infrastructure, and Debt Sustainability.

As part of Sustainability Week, the PGA will call on Member States, civil society, UN agencies, and the public to ‘Choose Sustainability.’ This will include pledges to adopt sustainable habits and actions, individually or as an organization.

The core element of the campaign will focus on Permanent Missions to the UN, civil society, UN agencies, and the public and will be primarily driven by social media posts.
